From Heart to Heart
"Divine Nuisance"
August 2007 ~ Chris McCombs, Author, Delicious Silence
Ahhh ... bliss ...
The courtesan, my companion,
The blood in my veins:
Sought in all worlds,
But found only in the Heart
I found her years ago
In meditation
What a blessed day
That was
Then I chased her
For decades
Until The Friend said
"Bliss is the radiance, not the cause
Find out who YOU are
Find out ... Who is looking"
And I was freed
From that search
Now She flows in my veins
A companion to Herself
Free of searching
Free to illuminate
Free to give back
Free ... TO DANCE
You have touched The Poet within
Now everything is poetry
Prose has taken the day off.
And only poetry flows
Only clothes left stewn on the floor
Trace the path to the Illuminated Door
My Heart just flew out of ...
She could be off dancing for days
I love it
When the poet shows up
And claims my mouth
As Her own
Driving all linear thoughts
From the house
Only verse will do today
What a blessing
The book will read beautifully
Intelligently, clearly,
Building to lucid conclusions ... then ...
Poetry breaks loose:
Dancing, partying, music, singing,
Her stockings hanging from the Crown
Joy has broken free
Dances it's way across my chest
It can go on like this for chapters
Before I return to my senses
And the lucid clarity of thought
People ask ... "What just happened, Chris"
I'll say: "Talk to Nila Ama Tara"
She just broke my chest open
And the poet jumped out
Now He's running around town
Being a Divine nuisance"
Where is joy found?
In giving back
What can't be given
